Beth Forrest from Forrest vineyard in Marlborough will join us for the evening to showcase the many varietals that Forrest has to offer. Cristian Hossack, The Providores' Head Chef, will design a 5 course tasting menu specifically for these wines, and will be on hand to answer all your 'foodie' questions. Seats are limited!

From Pod to Providores - Two Cacao Dinners



For Chocolate Week 2011, Peter Gordon and award-winning chocolatier Paul Young have collaborated to create a unique cacao-based menu that features in two dinners at The Providores during Chocolate Week. Using chocolate from some of the world’s finest producers and pairing those with seasonal and unexpected ingredients, Peter and Paul have created a 6 course menu with chocolate incorporated into each course.

They have devised exciting methods of featuring chocolate, such as smoking panizza over cacao nibs and creating a chocolate cocktail using Sipsmith gin. Dishes include ‘Master-stock roast duck, prune sauce, wild mushrooms, porcini powder and broad beans’ with Duffy Sheardown's award-winning Honduras Indio Rojo, and ‘Smoked eel, sautéed salsify, toasted sourdough crumbs and date chipotle chilli puree’ with Michel Cluizel 50% Mangaro chocolate.

The first dinner will take place on Monday 10th October to launch Chocolate Week. Peter and Paul will host the evening, introducing the dishes and talking about the chocolate, flavour profiles and the matching of ingredients. 

The second is on Friday 14th October when chocolate makers Philipp Kauffman of Original Beans and Bertil Akesson of Akessons will be on hand to introduce their chocolate and explain how it is produced.

This promises to be one of the highlights of Chocolate Week, a daring and deliciously original meal created by two of the most inventive chefs in the UK today.

Join us at tonight's dinner celebrating Framingham Vineyard with winemaker Andrew Hedley. Our dinners are held once a month in The Providores first floor dining room. They are a great opportunity to sample New Zealand wine, meet the producers, and of course enjoy menus expertly matched by Executive Chef Peter Gordon and Head Chef Cristian Hossack.

It's our birthday!

We first opened our doors 10 years ago on August 15th 2001 and haven’t looked back since. Our team have helped mould the Tapa Room and The Providores into what can only be described as the hustle and bustle of Marylebone High Street! Thank you to you - our regular customers - who continue to show your support. We love serving and cooking for you, and hope we’ll be fortunate enough to enjoy your support over the next 10 years!

We are closing for the evening of Sunday 14th August at both The Providores and our sister restaurant Kopapa to throw a party for our staff to say thanks for all their hard work!

The Providores at The Big Feastival, Clapham Common
1st - 3rd July

The Big Feastival is a festival of first-class food and top-notch live music and entertainment for all the family. It's on London's Clapham Common from Friday 1st July until Sunday 3rd July. All profits go to two charities, The Jamie Oliver Foundation and The Prince's Trust. We are one of several restaurants running pop-ups, and we're delighted to announce that our featured dish, specially created by Peter Gordon for the festival, is 'The NZ Lamb Sam: grilled ciabatta filled with roast spiced New Zealand lamb, minted yoghurt, tomato tamarind gooseberry chutney and salad'.  Peter will also be doing one or two cooking demos - details coming soon. Meanwhile, take a look at what's on, and buy tickets!

The Marylebone Summer Fayre

At the Marylebone Summer Fayre this year we are hosting a stand right opposite the restaurant. We will be serving Mojito's, a Sipsmith summer cup cocktail (their version of Pimms!) as well as plenty of tasty treats including muffins, scones, chorizo burgers, and rissotto........ Please come along to support us raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust!
